Riley v. Aegis Mortgage Corp. and Aegis Lending is a class action wage and hour lawsuit filed on August 4, 2003 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco. Plaintiffs brought this case under both federal and California law on behalf of a class of loan originators employed by Aegis in its offices in California anytime between August 4, 1999 and May 16, 2003. The case sought recovery of unpaid overtime wages and related penalties for loan originators who were treated by Aegis as exempt employees and not paid overtime compensation. The parties reached a settlement of the case, to which the Court gave final approval in July 2004.
