Babbitt v. Albertson’s

Babbitt, et al. v. Albertson’s was one of four class actions Goldstein, Borgen, Dardarian & Ho filed challenging job segregation and lack of promotional opportunities for women and minorities in large grocery store chains in large grocery store chains in California. See also, Stender v. Lucky Stores, Herring v. SaveMart, and Barnhart v. Safeway. The Babbitt case resulted in a settlement under which Albertson’s paid $24.5 million to the class and agreed to implement extensive injunctive relief designed to equalize employment opportunities for its female and Hispanic employees.
