A multitude of federal laws prohibit destruction and require preservation of natural resources and the environment. These laws include the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act.
States, such as California, have supplemented these laws with additional protections, such as California’s Proposition 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, which prohibits the release or discharge of known carcinogens or other reproductive toxins into a source or potential source of drinking water and notification to the public of products and facilities that could subject citizens to exposure to known carcinogens and toxins.
The firm has successfully litigated and resolved cases under both the Clean Water Act and Proposition 65.
