Goldstein, Borgen, Dardarian & Ho is recognized as one of the premier plaintiffs' employment discrimination class action law firms in the country.
There are many federal and state laws that prohibit employment discrimination in employment on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin and religion (Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Equal Employment Opportunity Act), age (Age Discrimination in Employment Act), and pregnancy or pregnancy-related status (Pregnancy Disability Act).
GBDH has successfully litigated and resolved cases under all of these statutes against employers in many different industries, including grocery and retail stores, restaurant chains and financial services companies. Most recently, the firm successfully resolved a nationwide race discrimination class action lawsuit against Walgreens on behalf of African American retail store and pharmacy management personnel. The firm also successfully tried and obtained a judgment against Lufkin Industries, Inc. on behalf of African American current and former employees. The case was appealed to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals which affirmed the lower court’s finding of discriminatory promotion practices. In addition to recovering lost wages for our clients, GBDH has obtained changes in their employers’ employment practices that were creating discriminatory barriers to equal employment opportunities and we have conducted on-going monitoring to ensure the remedies were implemented effectively.
