January 14, 2025
GBDH, along with co-counsel Disability Rights Advocates, Disability Rights Maryland, and Fox & Robertson, obtained preliminary approval of a class action settlement that requires the City of Baltimore to spend between $44 million and $50 million by the end of June 2028 to improve the accessibility of Baltimore’s pedestrian right of way for people with mobility disabilities. Under the settlement in Goodlaxson v. City of Baltimore, the City is committing to construct or remediate thousands of curb ramps and tens of thousands of square feet of sidewalks over the next four years, and to try to reach a further agreement with the Plaintiffs for further additional remediation of sidewalks and curb ramps in future years. More details about the settlement can be found here.
