Lin v. Siebel Systems, Inc.

Goldstein, Borgen, Dardarian & Ho, along with co-counsel Dickson-Ross LLP, reached a $27.5 million settlement of Lin, et al. v. Siebel Systems, Inc., et al., a class action filed in San Mateo County Superior Court.  The case involved claims by over 800 software engineers that Siebel violated California law by misclassifying them as “exempt” from overtime and failing to pay them required overtime compensation.  The software engineers also argued that releases obtained by Siebel from some software engineers, in connection with the payment of certain severance benefits, violated the California Labor Code to the extent those releases purported to waive claims for unpaid overtime wages.
